Private reflection for Master Masons

About Masonic Reflections

A CoachingOurselves product

Masonic Reflections offers a private quarter-hour of dialogue about the Craft — a space to think on the Work between meetings, between degrees, or whenever a moment opens up.

Grounded in tradition

We began by studying Masonic instruction across jurisdictions. The modern manuals all rest on a small set of principles found in the Craft's original public-domain literature: Mackey's Encyclopedia (1873), Preston's Illustrations (1772), Anderson's Constitutions (1723), Pike, Claudy.

Our modules go back to those sources. The coach is trained on this classic literature and guides your reflection on why you first knocked at the door, on the rough and perfect ashlars, and on the working tools as they show up in your actual week. The content is strictly exoteric philosophy — no passwords, no signs, no grips, no ritual wording.

“Be one of those, by whose lives the world has been adorned.” Albert Mackey, 1873

How a session works

You choose a module that fits your week. The coach introduces a theme from the tradition and asks a single open question. It then listens as you speak your mind, occasionally sharing a relevant story from Masonic history or from named historical Masons (Washington, Burns, Mozart, Macdonald, Kipling). Each conversation ends with a private one-page reflection for your records and one thought to carry into the week.

What the coach will not do

  • It will not name or echo any ritual content — no passwords, no signs, no grips, no exact ritual wording.
  • It will not name a specific living Mason, lodge, or jurisdiction unless the brother names it first.
  • It will not summarize the brother's reflection back at him.
  • It will not evaluate the reflection as worthy or unworthy.
  • It will not share the conversation with any other brother, lodge officer, or Grand Lodge.

Custom reflections for your lodge or chapter

The core modules draw on the public domain. Your lodge can also commission custom reflections built around your own working — a Past Master's meditation, a degree-companion exercise, a chapter-anniversary reflection. If that interests your lodge, write to coach@aicoach.coachingourselves.com.

Privacy

Your conversations are private. You control your data — delete any reflection whenever you want, and everything is automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days, whether you delete it or not. Your conversations are never used to train AI. The written summary is yours to keep.
